Using the .exe file is the easiest and best way to get InvenTrack installed on your server. With it's built in FTP program it will upload all the files for you and set the proper permissions on your folders and files.
Once you have downloaded the installer file to your desktop double click it to start the upload and install process.
Welcome Screen
This is the initial welcome screen, nothing to do here except click Next >.
License Agreement
You must select 'I accept the agreement' to proceed and then click the Next > button.
Installation Type
There should be no reason to change this setting unless you are installing it on your own computer locally.
Remote Server Details
This is where you will fill in your FTP server information for the uploading and permission settings on folders and files.
FTP server address - This should be your domain name FTP port - 21 is the default you should not need to change this FTP username - Your hosting FTP username FTP password - Your hosting FTP password
Next you can click the browse button to browse your hosting account folders and choose the folder you wish to install InvenTrack into. If no folder is selected it will be installed on the root directory of your hosting account.
Once you have filled in all the information click the Next > button.
Web Server Settings
You will then see your domain name in the install URL. If it is not listed you need to add it to this box to proceed. This is the complete URL including the directory if applicable.
Once you have verified you have the proper URL in the form click Next >.
Ready to Install
Now you will see a breakdown of the installation. If everything is correct click the Install button to proceed.
Installer Actions
The installer will start the upload and permission setting process. Once this process has been completed you will be sent to a complete page where you will click Finish.
Install Wizard Complete
Once you click finish you will be taken to the web portion of the setup process. For complete details on the web configuration process click here. |
